What is a podiatrist?

Podiatrists are allied health professionals that specialise in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of lower limb disorders. This includes the feet, ankles, knees and hips.

Do I need a referral form my GP?

No, a GP referral is not required to visit a podiatrist. Simply call up and make an appointment.

How long are your appointments?

Our general treatment appointments are 30 minutes. Biomechanical assessments range from 30 minutes to 1 hour dependent on your presenting complaint. Our reception team will let you know what is appropriate.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please bring any recent imaging you have had in relation to your complaint. If you have been recommended by another health professional please bring any paperwork or letters from that practitioner. You should wear clothing that is comfortable and that will easily allow the podiatrist to see your legs and feet.

How long will I need in between visits?

For general skins and nail care it is recommend that you return every 8-10 weeks for foot health maintenance. Patients with biomechanical needs will need to return more often dependent on the presenting complaint and treatment provided by the podiatrist.
